The Alternative provides SA businesses with a new way to access graduate talent.

As a structured program, graduates have the capability to undertake exciting projects for your organisation, injecting fresh perspectives, innovative ideas and practical solutions. In the process, you may even identify tomorrow’s leaders for your business.

The Alternative will provide employers with:

    Our partners will work with you to support Graduates through the program.

How does it work?

  1. Graduates and businesses apply to be a part of the program.
  2. A recruitment, assessment and selection process will take place in collaboration with participating businesses.
  3. Businesses are matched and a graduate will commence in your business in one or more rotations (as specified by you).
  4. AGA and the participating business are responsible for the day to day management and workload of graduates.
  5. The Alternative facilitates pastoral support to graduates including professional development, networking, and mentoring as well as a professional development program and networking opportunities for employers.
  6. Graduates rotate through three, six month placements.

How do I register?

  1. Register your interest by completing our registration form.
  2. Meet with our team to discuss the process, employer and graduate obligations and next steps.
  3. Complete and return a signed Business Panel Agreement and finalise payment of the joining fee.
  4. Outline the type of graduate talent and role/s you are recruiting for in your organisation.
  5. Work with our recruitment partner to finalise the graduate recruitment and onboarding process into your organisation.
  6. Benefit from and participate in Professional Development opportunities and networking events throughout the duration of the program.
